Cameron Diaz hasn’t used deodorant in 20 years

Cameron Diaz doesn’t believe in deodorants and hasn’t used one for almost 20 years because she thinks they are not good for the health.

Speaking to E! News, she said:  ”I don’t believe in antiperspirant. It’s really bad for you. I haven’t used it for almost 20 years. You’re stinky, because you use antiperspirant. It keeps all the stink in.”

The actress also thinks men should stop using deodorants, since, according to her, well-groomed armpits are all they need to stay odor-free.

She added: ”Let it go and just trim your armpit hair so it doesn’t hold onto the scent.”

Antiperspirant is not the same thing as deodorant. The main argument against antiperspirant is that aluminum basically clogs the pores and prevents sweating- a very important bodily process that serves a purpose of bodily elimination (peeing is another form of body elimination). Another thought is that the aluminum can actually enter your body and cause serious harm over time as heavy metals are prone to do.

I’ve heard that antiperspirant is not great for you, but I thought that deodorant in general (especially the natural kind) was fine? As someone who has had to suffer through a hot, crowded subway ride, I’d really appreciate it if everyone used at least something in the summer.
