When you say introverted celebrity, it may sound confusing, but it’s actually not. What many people don’t know it that introverts are not necessarily shy. They don’t suffer from social phobia either. In fact, these people can socialize easily, but they just prefer not to. When you look at some of the most public people in history and even today, you will find introverts make up a big part of that list. Keep on reading and see for yourself.
The former Friends star cited personality differences as one of the reasons for her split with David Arquette. “I’m a homebody. I like to have people over, but I’m a little socially not — I don’t love it,” she told Howard Stern in a 2011 radio interview, People reported. “David — he doesn’t drink anymore, he’s completely sober — but he likes to go out and dance. He really is a very gregarious guy. He’s very outgoing. I’m much more of an introvert.”
Time magazine dubbed Keanu Reeves as “Hollywood’s Biggest Introvert” in 2005. Despite being one of the biggest names in Hollywood, Keanu is one of the only stars to not own a mansion, not wear fancy clothes, and not have a bodyguard. In fact, for one of his birthdays, Keanu bought himself a cake at a bake shop, started eating it alone, and would offer a piece to fans that came up to him. This is why the nickname “sad Keanu” started, when in fact Keanu isn’t constantly sad, he just likes to do things alone.
“I’m actually a very shy person—that’s a big secret, so don’t tell,” Blake said. “But being in acting classes pushed me to break out of that a little bit. It’s like nature versus nurture: I’m naturally very shy, but I was brought up in a way where I had to get up and get out of that.”
Johnny Depp comes off extremely shy in his interviews and in his actual life he tends to shy away from the spotlight, which is why he moved to France. “I’m shy, paranoid, whatever word you want to use. I hate fame. I’ve done everything I can to avoid it,” Depp once said.
Emma has said she credits her introverted personality for her reputation as a non-party girl. “It’s interesting, because people say things to me like, ‘It’s really cool that you don’t go out and get drunk all the time and go to clubs,’ and I’m just like, I mean, I appreciate that, but I’m kind of an introverted kind of person just by nature, it’s not like a conscious choice that I’m making necessarily. It’s genuinely who I am,” she told Rookie earlier this year. “Have you seen Quiet by Susan Cain? … It discusses how extroverts in our society are bigged up so much, and if you’re anything other than an [extrovert] you’re made to think there’s something wrong with you. That’s like the story of my life. Coming to realize that about myself was very empowering, because I had felt like Oh my god, there must be something wrong with me, because I don’t want to go out and do what all my friends want to do.”
In 2005, this Hollywood beauty revealed that she loves to spend a lot of time by herself because it helps her develop as a person. She’s also confessed that she meets new people on her own terms, rather than following a crowd. She’s also recently been quoted admitting that she doesn’t have many friends outside of her family. She said, “I don’t have a lot of friends. I’ve been alone a lot. You know what it is? I think when you’re alone, when you go someplace and you’re by yourself, you end up meeting new people and you develop.”
She once said: “I am crap at parties. I tend to sit in the corner. I’ll sit in the corner and find one person to talk to or I’ll go on the dance floor and get quite drunk. But I am not good at that whole thing.”
There are extroverts and introverts in any class, society, nation, race and profession is not the exception. I am not sure that all of the people mentioned in the article are introverts, some just say they do not like being out and partying much, avoiding clubs and things of this kind. I am an extrovert myself, I enjoy communicating with people much, I love it, but I never have been a party animal and never have enjoyed them so much. Well, I feel great when I am in the public and can dance all night, but just do not like it.
Well for me it is no wonder that Keanu Reeves is an introvert person, I think it is quite obvious by the way how he is acting all the time. I am wondering does anyone ever hear about his personal life? I mean he is a handsome man so of course a bunch of girls are after him, but I never read anything like that in the media. He certainly knows how to hide his life from the eyes of everyone who tries to involve in it, and maybe it is a good thing, as media is more destroying the personal life, than helping it.
According to the “Gossip Girl” TV show and her role in it I would never say that Blake Lively is a shying person, but when again comes the subject that probably she is a very good actress as she is able to keep all of her real fears and feelings about the stage behind a mask of a smiling and a very confident actress. I admire her for the way she looks like, for the way she is acting and for the way she is living her life, I guess this is the kind of lifestyle any young actress should lead, in order to give some decent example to the teenager girls who are following her as an example.
