Colin Firth always trying to impress his parents

colin_firth_689874 After so many years in the acting business and lots of characters played in film, on TV and in theater, Colin Firth still tries to impress his parents.

The actor has revealed that his mom and dad are not always supportive of his career and tries to please them with ”distinguished” roles.

He told HELLO! Magazine: ”I’ve tried to impress them with distinguished roles where you don’t feel apologetic about your chosen profession. Playing a king is much better than when I’m prancing around in Mamma Mia!

Firth has just finished filming The Railway Man, a movie based on a true story of a Colin-Firth-010soldier who was taken as a prisoner of war by the Japanese in the Second World War. He plays Eric Lomax, whom he met while working on the film. The two men became friends and Colin admits that this friendship put even more pressure on his performance.

”I became good friends with Eric and that made it all the more important and meaningful to do the best job possible,” the actor said. ”We’re telling a story on behalf of a lot of people who weren’t able to speak out. Many died as a result of the brutality they endured as POWs so we’re fulfilling a sacred trust to tell their story.”

I like Colin Firth and what he does on the screen. I also have a deep respect that he tries to impress his parents when playing in the films. They have raised a man of honor and dignity,. Who really knows how to respect his parents and older generation. My hat down, sir!
