Although the autopsy was performed yesterday (July 15), Cory Monteith‘s final cause of death might not be known for another couple of weeks.

The actor’s body was found at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel on Saturday afternoon. Chief of Vancouver Police, Doug LePard, said: “Mr. Monteith checked into the hotel on July 6 and was due to check out of the room on Saturday. There were others with Mr. Monteith in his room earlier… but video and fob key entries show him returning to his room by himself in the early morning hours and we believe he was alone when he died.”

The coroner’s office in British Columbia said: ”We might well have an update tomorrow, but final cause of death might be several days or even a couple of weeks after that.”

Cory’s Glee colleagues, as well as many other stars, have expressed sadness and paid tributes after the young actor’s death.
