While filming a documentary, Idris Elba has revealed he started driving car when he was only 14 years old.
The actor secretly bought and illegally drove a Mini Clubman. His parents didn’t know anything about that and he successfully got away with it as he looked older than his age.
In BBC documentary Idris Elba: King of Speed, he said: “By the time I was 14 I had an obsession with speed. I saved up and bought a car and drove it to school every day. My parent didn’t know I bought it. When you have facial hair at 14, people don’t question your age. I’m not proud of my early exploits but for me it was where it all began.”
This was a very interesting fact about Idris Elba. Tells much about his nature and desire of exploration and the willingness to get in life what you really dream of. I am happy to find out he was such a purposeful kid and has turned not a very goal-oriented and successful man and brilliant actor. I cannot wait for his Mandela character. I always admire this actor on screen.
