For several years Jared Leto didn’t do any acting because he wanted to focus on his music completely. Today, after being nominated for Best Supporting Actor at this year’s Oscars, the 42-year-old star says quitting acting for six years was ”one of the best decisions” he’s ever made.
Leto believes that the break has actually made him better actor.
“I think that the six years I took off was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, in my entire life. I think it made me a better actor. I think it made me a better person. We really only have to offer an equal and opposite reflection of the experiences that we’ve had in our lives, and the time away was crucial,” he explained.
Leto plays transgender AIDS patient in Dallas Buyers Club. He has been critically acclaimed for this role and he claims that wouldn’t have been able to play it without the break.
He told Collider.com: ”I couldn’t have done any of that – not even close – without that time away. I was chasing other dreams, and that’s a powerful thing. When you fail, you win a little and you fail again, you take all of those lessons and you apply it.”
Jared Leto is definitely a very talented singer and actor! I even cannot decide what he is better at from this, since he is just perfect to me! I am happy he took the break to become a better actor. I am looking for the new movie with the new role of this amazing persona and I am sure I will enjoy it. I already like the picture in this article.
I am happy to hear that Jared made the best decision in his life. I see this pause in his acting career has helped him much in terms of his acting development and gave more time to reconsider the roles he would play. I hope this new role of transgender will bring Jared Leto new fame, success and a movie award.
