During a radio interview with Howard Stern, Joseph Gordon-Levitt spoke openly about his private life and has revealed that although he would like to start a family, he is not the marrying type. The actor has been dating a woman who is “not in show business.”
In an interview Joseph said: “I think I’m a pretty good person and a good boyfriend… I think that I could partner up with somebody – I don’t know who that somebody is – I could partner up with a woman and commit to, ‘We’re going to raise a family and that’s a project we’re going to commit to for 20-something years.’ But I like to not be too committed to any one future that’s really far away, necessarily, unless there’s a reason, which is why I’m saying if you’re gonna raise a family… I can make that commitment.”
Gordon-Levitt didn’t want to reveal his girlfriend’s identity because she wants to stay out of the spotlight. “I get up in movies and I play other people, so when the audience is watching me in movies, I don’t want them thinking about me and who I’m dating. The girl that I’m with, she really doesn’t want to be a part of it and you can imagine not wanting to have that kind of scrutiny,” he said.
Good position, Joseph! Yes, private life better be kept private. Marriage – when you are ready you will know. This is everyone’s private business. I support his words of audience not identifying his characters with his personality. On screen he is one character in every movie – a new one and in real life he is himself that only close people need to know of. I support such position!
