Joan Rivers still in coma
After 18 years of marriage Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas have decided to call it quits.
Griffith has reportedly filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their split. The actress petitioned for spousal support, child support and sole physical and joint legal custody for their 17-year-old daughter Stella.
Melanie and Antonio have issued a joint statement, which reads: “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost 20 years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together.”
Griffith, 56, and Banderas, 53, started their romance on the set of their 1995 film Two Much. The couple got married in a low key ceremony in London, England, in 1996, just one month after Antonio finalized his divorce from first wife, Ana. This marriage was the second for Banderas and the fourth for Griffith.
Well that is a very shocking news to read i have always thought of them as of a very loving couple, as any article i was reading about them, or any film ceremony they were always with each other and i guess i have not seen even one photography where they would be together but not holding each other’s hands, so for me it is a great shock to see that they are not together anymore. I think there is some bigger problem behind this divorce, the problem that they are not showing to anyone, but which really exists, i do not believe in irreconciliable issues after almost twenty years of marriage!
I am surprised to read this, as for me Antonio and his wife Melanie Griffith have always been an exemplary couple, same as for example Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, i thought that they will leave with each other until the moment than death will tell them apart. So i’m thinking that maybe they are divorcing due to Melanie’s addiction to alcohol which Antonio was fighting with during all the years of their marriage?! Or maybe he has cheated on her, as it really happens in families that live together for a long time but at some point realize that they are no longer happy with each other, i do believe in this kind of turn.
Well it was anout time for them to divorce, as Melanie Griffith was never good enough for such a handsome and good looking man as Antonio Banderas. In all this situation i feel very sorry for the years that they lost with each other, although they could have find their soul mates. I always thought that Antonio needs some woman as Angelina Jolie, actually when i saw them in the movie “Sin” i was so surprised and thought that their relation will evolve from a realtionship performed into a natural one, but it was not meant to happen, as Brad Pitt was much smarter than Antonio and he knew that some women deserve leaving everything behind in order to be with her and not ever letting her go. Hopefully Antonio soon will find a woman for himself.
