In an interview with BANG Showbiz, Michelle Pfeiffer says that comparing Al Pacino and Robert De Niro would be like ”apples and oranges”.
She has worked with both of them and played the wife of a mob boss, appearing as Pacino’s wife in Scarface and De Niro’s in new movie The Family, but doesn’t want to say who the better mobster is.
”You can’t compare the two, it’s like apples and oranges,” Michelle said.
”I never considered Tony Montana as a Mafioso. But in terms of my relationship with De Niro in the film, he’s my husband so I don’t relate to him as a mobster, he’s just somebody who won’t listen to what I say and then misbehaves!”
Pfeiffer enjoyed playing Maggie in the new movie The Family as it gave her the chance to explore the dark side of her personality.
She said: ”I can’t imagine myself blowing up supermarkets, but it is fun to play those kinds of parts. It’s fun to kick ass and show that other dark side of yourself as well. It’s fun to explore areas that are taboo that you’re not allowed to in real life as an actor.”
I agree with Michelle Pfeiffer you cannot compare these two famous ‘mobsters’. Still I didn’t like the movie Family at all! IMHO! Yes, Michelle was different and showed her dark side to us, but the movie is just stupid. Sorry. I cannot add anything to it. Both actors are great though and I like Al Pacino as well as De Niro.
