Movie stars with highest IQs

When we think about movie stars, the first thing that comes to mind is beauty. They are hot (well, most of them) and they entertain us. However, beneath the starry aura of some celebrities lie brains and some celebrities are associated with Mensa – a group which requires that members have a very high IQ. Check out our list of some famous brainy people.

Natalie Portman

Fluent in several languages with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Harvard, Portman pursued graduate studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She speaks Hebrew, French, German, Arabic and Japanese. “I don’t care if college ruins my career,” she told the New York Post. “I’d rather be smart than a movie star.”

Steve Martin

Actor, comedian and musician, Steve Martin made a career playing goofy guys, but don’t be fooled by his acting. Martin majored in Philosophy at Cal State and even considered becoming a professor at one time. His IQ is estimated to be about 142.

Geena Davis

With an IQ of 140, Geena Davis is also a member of Mensa – and became fluent in Swedish when she went to Sweden as a kid in an exchange program. She has a bachelor’s degree in drama from Boston University. She also studied drama at Boston University, plays piano, flute, drums and organ.

Quentin Tarantino

He is a writer, director and actor and a damn good one. For making movies like Kill Bill and Django Unchained, you need genius. And that is exactly what Quentin Tarantino is. With a high IQ of 160, this director was a high school drop-out but in his case that really isn’t important.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Now, here’s a man of many talents. With an IQ of 135 it’s no wonder this professional bodybuilder, actor and businessman also made it in politics. Arnie was the Governor of California for eight years and has a degree in international marketing of fitness and business administration.

Jodie Foster

Foster graduated as valedictorian from the French-speaking Lycee Francais de Los Angeles, after which she attended Yale and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in literature. Her reported IQ is 132.

Nicole Kidman

With an IQ of 132, Nicole Kidman is one of the most intelligent actresses in Hollywood. The Moulin Rouge actress had to take a break from her studies when she worked as a massage therapist at the age of 17 to provide for her family. An alumnus of the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Victoria, Kidman was an accomplished student as well as an actress by her middle teens.

Sylvester Stallone

Dolph Lundgren

Lundgren attended the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He received a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, in 1982, and the next year was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to MIT. IQ score: 160.
