Organizers of Cannes Film Festival confirmed that Nicole Kidman has joined the nine-member jury at this year’s festival. The actress and double Oscar-winning director Ang Lee are the latest confirmed members of the jury that is led by Steven Spielberg. They will decide the winner of the prestigious Palme d’Or award for this year.

The organizers said in a statement: “Eight international movie personalities of very high level will help Steven Spielberg award the prizes. They are all engaged and active in several creation spheres.” Cannes Festival is much respected and winning the Palme d’Or prize can significantly boost a picture’s box office and awards potential.
