Jonathan Winters, a legendary comedian who died at the age of 87 on April 11 2013, was a true idol to many fellow stars. Many of them have paid tribute to Winters.

Robin Williams posted on his Facebook page:  “First he was my idol, then he was my mentor and amazing friend. I’ll miss him huge. He was my Comedy Buddha. Long live the Buddha.”

Dick Van Dyke wrote: “The first time I saw Jonathan Winters perform, I thought I might as well quit the business. Because, I could never be as brilliant.” 

Steve Martin shared on Twitter: “Goodbye, Jonathan Winters. You were not just one of the greats, but one of the great greats.”

Jim Carrey said goodbye to the legend posting on Twitter: “Jonathan Winters was the worthy custodian of a sparkling and childish comedic genius. He did God’s work. I was lucky 2 know him.”
