The society is changing and some things that were unthinkable fifty years ago are perfectly normal today. Infidelity is nothing new to humans, but nowadays people talk about it more openly and some even argue that it is against human nature to be monogamous. There are celebrities who also think that monogamy just isn’t realistic and aren’t afraid to talk about it. Here they are.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan in 2009, the actress said: “I don’t think it’s a natural instinct for human beings, but it doesn’t mean I don’t believe in monogamy or true love. I believe in finding a soulmate. I’ve always been in monogamous relationships. I would never want to be in an open one. It’d be too awful. Monogamy can be hard work for some people. I don’t think it applies to everybody, and I don’t think a lot of people can do it.”
The actor has previously spoken about how there are allowances for some loving on the side in his marriage to Jada Pinkett Smith. “You don’t avoid what’s natural and you’re going to be attracted to people,” he said. “If it came down to it, then one would say to the other, ‘Look, I need to have love with somebody. Now I’m not going to do it if you don’t approve of it.’”
Claire said: “I was talking to my friend recently about monogamy—is it feasible, is it realistic? I resolved that there isn’t really a better model. We just can’t shake monogamy. It definitely demands a kind of rigor and discipline and selflessness. But it’s also fun.”

The actor spoke about his marriage to his current wife Ryan and said that he was “committed to it,” but also shocked fans by stating that “sexual fidelity can’t be the whole thing you hang your relationship on.” Ethan also said: “People have such a childish view of monogamy and fidelity. ‘He’s cheated so he’s bad, she’s cheated so she’s bad,’ as opposed to a recognition that our species is not monogamous. ”
Speaking to Esquire, Maria said: “The whole idea of monogamy is nonsensical to me. I suppose I understand the idea of a lifelong helpmate and friend. But when you have to stay sexually monogamous to this one person, I think it’s usually a big fat lie. Read the statistics. Seventy percent of people are having affairs. And if they’re not, they’re jerking off to adult movie everynight. ”
Although it is unclear whether she and Brad Pitt have an open relationship, Jolie said that is, well, open to the idea. “I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship,” she said. “Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together. We make sure that we never restrict each other.”
Asked about monogamy, Kate told Access Hollywood: “Absolutely it can be done. Do I believe it’s realistic? No, I don’t. I believe that we as people have the power to make it happen. I will not disrespect my husband and stray. ”
Thanks for the wonderful article. Well, even though these actors and actresses do not believe in monogamy, they still stick to it in their relationships. They just tell about the respect to each other and the power of people to make monogamy work. This is what makes another side of the coin. Even though, these celebrities find people being polygamous they stick to their partners and are faithful, well for the most part. However, this monogamy is not an instinct, but a choice!
