It appears that Will Smith might end up doing Independence Day sequel, after all. The 44-year-old actor is set to have discussions to reprise his role as Captain Steven Hiller in the sci-fi film.

Director Roland Emmerich told Digital Spy.com: ”I sometimes say no, Will Smith will not be in it [Independence Day] because he didn’t want to do it at first. Now we have a meeting planned, we want to talk about it again. Anything can happen.”

Previous reports said that Smith wouldn’t come back because he was too expensive, but the director now appears to have had a change of heart.
