Zooey Deschanel designs dresses for Tommy Hilfiger

zooey-deschanel-2014-tca-winter-press-tour_4024040 New Girl star Zooey Deschanel has teamed up with Tommy Hilfiger for the spring line called To Tommy, From Zooey.

The actress has created 16 vintage-inspired dresses for the designer.

Hilfiger told WWD: ”They are Sixties-inspired short dresses. There is a lot of red, white and blue, but done in a Zooey way with interesting detail and flirty fabrics. They are very Jean Shrimpton and Twiggy – really from the Sixties in London.

”That’s not something we would normally put in our regular sportswear line – maybe we’d be inspired by the Sixties for the runway, but it’s a new way to look at fun, American classics.”

”I am a fashion fanatic, and I am always looking for new ways to incorporate vintage, feminine pieces into my own wardrobe,” she explained. ”Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations – old-school music, classic films and old Hollywood icons – and his guidance during the design process helped to put a really unique twist on each piece.”

Priced from $98 to $199, the dresses are named after Zooey’s close friends and the first pieces will arrive in store at Macy’s on April 14.

Zooey has a great taste in everything, not only clothes. I would purchase some dresses from her collection! Her vision of woman style is very close to what I find very sexy, feminine and at the same time not vulgar, but subtle and interesting! The woman is gorgeous and I hope Tommy Hilfiger enjoys co-working with her. This is a great tandem to my mind!
