From the director Pauline Chan comes an amazing music drama. The story is focused on a young Chinese girl, Mei Mei, who lives in an orphanage and a prisoner named Dean Randall, who is in Australia. How did the two of the meet? Well, at the beginning of the movie we get to see how and when Mei Mei was brought to the orphanage. At first she didn't like it, like any other orphan. But, after a while, she received a letter saying that she has a sponsor. That means, she has a "dad" somewhere across the country who is sending money and paying for her school, so she can be educated and live a better life. As the time goes by and they write back and forth to each other, she reveals that he has wife and children, that Australia is always sunny, how nice beaches are, and amongst other things, she gets an invitation to visit him if she ever comes to Australia. When Mei Mei turned 16 and her choir got invited to go to Sidney and sing, she was thrilled and ready to see her "dad". But, not only her orphanage supervisor, but the circumstances are not the way she expected them to be. When she gets refused to see him, she runs away, only to find out that he is a prisoner. Again, after entering the prison, she gets another cold shower, when he says she shouldn't have come at the first place. And it looks like it's one bad news after another. Will they manage to work everything out and will she melt his heart? Is he going to be getting out of prison soon and be her dad for real? This music drama covers lots of emotions from very complex situations and feelings.
