When there is no inspiration for new stories, there are always old ones that can be redone into looking totally different, yet keeping the main story. One of those cases is a teenage version of a Cinderella, called Another Cinderella Story. The plot is pretty much the same and it is mostly done for the younger audience. The whole thing revolves around young high school girl called Mary Santiago (Selena Gomez), who is often overshadowed by her older spoiled stepsisters and her vicious stepmom. She is an amazing dancer, but since her stepmom treats her as a housekeeper more than as a stepdaughter, she gets no right in anything, even deciding if she's going to have a normal life. She doesn't get to take dance classes, in order not to embarrass her sisters. That forces Mary take these classes in secret. After the whole school hears about comeback of famous Joey Parker (Drew Seeley), she is more than excited to meet him, but also pretty shy about it. With the help of her best friend, she manages to sneak out to a party, steal Joey's heart on the dance floor and run back home, before anyone notices. The rest of the story is pretty much the same, together with the happy ending, where she ends up with a prince.. uhm, Joey that is.
