Story in this movie starts in Los Angeles. It deals with sudden disappearance of a young girl from the town, who affects the whole neighbourhood. Firstly there is detective Frankie (Julie Benz). She is a single mom and a detective, who is on the case and although she has some ideas about who kidnapped the girl, based on evidence she got so far, she doesn't have the direct link to the suspect. The guy that she suspects of is girls neighbour Beckworth (Greg Germann), who really looks creepy, but aside of that, nothing. Frankie's friend Kate (Elizabeth Mitchell) is a lawyer, and she is obsessed with getting pregnant. But, since nothing happened until now, she had tried the in vetro fertilisation. She wants the baby so much that she doesn't even see that her husband, Ryan (Cook) is cheating on her with a young rock star Tara (Aja Volkman). On the other hand, Ryan was abandoned by his dad as he was a kid and since then, he doesn't believe in love. His mother Marylin (Barbara Hershey) has her faith to keep her happy and is a hopeless romantic. Along the way, in this story more and more characters get involved and you can see just how entangled their lives are. Every day they affect each other without even knowing and noticing it. According to some critics, the movie was a success, but still is unfocused.
