Virginia Korus Spragg took novel of Pete Fromm and wrote screenplay for movie “As Cool as I Am”. Story is about 16 years old girl that has nice life and a good relations with parents. Drama is following her while she discovers truth about her parents. Cute Sarah Bolger is born in Dublin, Ireland in 1991. Sarah is acting teen Lucy Diamond. During this movie Lucy is going trough some transformations that most teenagers don’t have to deal. At first she has nice relations with father. While father Chuck Diamond (James Marsden) is absent most of the time, Lucy has easy going relation with mother Lainee Diamond (Claire Danes). Chuck looks like he is dedicated to providing for his family. Her best friend Kenny (Thomas Man) crosses line between friendship and romance. They get involved in a romantic relationship. Soon she starts to discover why her father is always absent. On the other side of equation is her mother. How much she cares for her husband is an important question. Interaction between Kenny and Lucy is interesting. Kenny is kid with divorced parents. He learned to be simple and pragmatic. Lucy’s parents got her when they were teens. At the same time hormones are doing their thing. Lucy starts to discover herself. She starts exploring her sexuality in romance with Kenny. Characters are believable and add comedy into hour and half long drama.
