After having her personal life sacrificed in order to win the Olympic gold, very successful and competitive Abi Brooks (Sarah Megan Thomas), who is almost 30 and professional rower, gets the place of a replacement for the third time. Talking her coach into changing his mind brought her anywhere, so she decided to quit. On her mother's insisting to give it all up and find a real job, she started looking for one. Soon, her luck is going to turn around and she will meet her teen crush, Geoff (James Van Der Beek), who offers her a job as a rower coach in a private high school. As she gets to meet girls and starts coaching them, none of them actually like her. In fact, they hate her. And after they lose a race, girls are discouraged and feeling anything but practising a bit more. At that point, Abi realizes how harsh she has been on teenage girls and decides to change the way she works with them. She decides to take a risk and pair up two best friends to get the wanted results and lift their spirits a little bit by getting them into a two-man rowing. But, then other things are in stake and it is a question will she go through with it, or will she leave and take her place on the rowing boat.
