“Boyhood” is a deep drama written and directed by Richard Linklater. It is worth noting that this film was shot intermittently over a period of twelve (!) years. Filming began in 2002 and finally was completed in 2013. “Boyhood” tells us a touching story of a divorced couple trying to raise their young son. It’s not a coincidence that the movie was being filmed for such a long period, seeing its story follows the boy for exactly the same amount of time – from the first grade at the age of 6 and up till the 12th grade at the age of 17-18. During this lengthy period we witness how his relationship with parents changes as he grows. It’s not an easy thing to do to raise a child when you are divorced. Of course there are some inevitable difficulties – the parents are no longer together, they don’t understand each other as they did before, but still they have a child to raise and they simply need to overcome all the obstacles. As Mason grows up he has to deal with the fact that his parents are separated, and it’s not that easy for a little child.
