At the beginning we get to meet Billy Taggart, a young and perspective officer of New York City. After pulling the trigger when confronted with a rapist Mikey Tavarez, he ends up in court, but doesn't get convicted for that, because the main evidence seem to disappear. Anyhow, he decides to leave the police. Seven years after that, Billy finds himself working as a private detective and living with his girl, Natalie Barrow, whose sister was one of the victims of the rapist he killed. As the time of election is coming close, Mayor Nicholas Hostetler hires him to investigate his wife, Cathleen Hostetler, because he is suspecting she is having an affair. For that service, Billy gets $50,000 in cash. And as his company is in debt, he accepts the job. Of course, he does everything and finds out everything that's necessary. When he gives the photos of Mayor's wife and her lover to him, he discovers the lover dead the next morning. As he tries to confront the Mayor with that, he uses the missing footage of him from seven years ago to blackmail him. And that's when the whole chaos begins to unravel. This 109 minute crime drama with thriller elements directed by Allen Hughes will make you bite your nails throughout the movie.
