How many of us have wondered how it is to be God and to manage everything? How would it be like to have such power to rule the entire human kind and their decisions? And could one man handle that kind of power, because it doesn't come without responsibilities. This film revolves around Bruce Nolan (Jim Carrey), who is a simple New York news reporter who is living and working in Buffalo. He is sweet guy but he don't seem to be getting along with the environment around him. The only person he gets along with is his girlfriend Grace (Jennifer Aniston). Bruce is almost 40 and he has nothing else to show for besides his work and his girlfriend. As he is struggling to remain at the position of the anchorman on the TV station he works on. But as the job gets assigned to his biggest rival Evan Baxter (Steve Carell), Bruce looses his cool and freaks off. At the end of the day, as he starts complaining about God and his deeds, God (Morgan Freeman) decides to answer. Appearing in his human form, God decides to have a chat with Bruce and give him a couple of days to walk in his shoes and see if he can manage it all. At first, Bruce starts using the power fro his own gain, but soon enough he discovers that terrible things are happening across the world and that he is the only one who can balance it all out. During that process, he gets left by his girlfriend. Now, he must clear his head and clean his mess.
