Have you ever felt the need to chase your dream even if it means loosing everything? Have you ever had a dream that is worth chasing that much? The feeling that you found the thing you are supposed to do is amazing. And that's exactly the centre of the story in this film. Long time ago young Jay Moriarity got saved by a surfer called Frosty Hesson. And since that moment, he had dreamed of surfing. After some time passed by, Jay was already 15, when he heard of the great Maverics- big and really dangerous waves that any surfer dreams of catching, even if that cost him his life. Since Jay has no father, his only father figure was his rescuer, Frosty Hesson, who stuck around. With his help, Jay learned about some rules of life. And that all helped him to be a better person, to see what kind of man he wants to grow up, to be like. And the waves are there as a metaphor, they stand as an obstacle that needs to be overcame in order to become a man, a fully developed person. With Jonny Weston in the role of Jay and Gerard Butler as his surfer mentor and father figure Frosty, this is one pretty amazing movie that everyone should watch at least one time. It is very inspirational and has a thing or two to say.
