Whenever the life becomes too boring, they come and visit it. Cirque du Freak is one of a kind circus with no animals. People, or at least that's what others think they are, show their skills and abilities or strange characteristics they have. There is a bit of everything- bearded lady, vampire, an elf, everything. Becoming a vampire isn't something you are asked if you want it to. Except if you are Darren Shan. As one day Darren (Chris Massoglia) and his best friend Steve (Josh Hutcherson) get home back from school, they get a propaganda material for something called Cirque du Freak. They decide to sneak out of their houses at night and see what that is all about. The whole thing is under the leadership of Larten (John C. Reilly), who is a vampire. So, after his friend gets bitten by a spider, Darren seeks Larten, trying to get the antidote from him. But, Larten doesn't want money, and has another offer. The moment Darren accepts to become a vampire, he gets into a totally different world and must learn totally new rules and ways of existing. From drinking blood to fighting with another vampire- that is what he needs in order to survive. So, was it worth of trading his life for this? Watch the movie and see for yourselves.
