Horror movies are all alike but they are all so different from each other at the same time. They are always involved in some kind of mysterious happening- either undead or killers, or even supernatural forces. The story here begins with a TV reporter Maria (Harris), who is investigating a cold case of a serial killer. Along with her camera guy, Tom (Yalda), she drives off to the location where they are supposed to get an interview. The show they are doing this for is called Last Steps, which deals with differing between mass murders and serial killers. They get to the location where they are get some information about a man called Cyrus (Krause) (aka "The Highway Hunter" aka "The County Line Cannibal"). Emmett (Henriksen) welcomes them and agrees on giving them everything in front of the camera. As he starts talking, there are flashback showing the audience what actually happened and how it went down. The whole thing was done through flashbacks, which is an amazing film making technique that gives that feeling of watching something that happened in past and tracking down every bit of informations you need along the way, like solving a puzzle right there. Mark Vadik was both the creator of the idea, he wrote the screenplay and did the job behind the camera as well.
