What is the movie G.B.F. about?
G.B.F. or "the gay best friend" is a comedy centered around three high school girls battling for supremacy, they are drama diva Caprice, blonde fashionista Fawcett and Mormon princess 'Shley. One of the boys at the school gets outed as being gay and that immediately makes him a magnet for all the girls at the school. Every girl wants him to be her gay best friend and to parade him around like a fashion accessory. The name of the boy is Tanner, and he has to deal with the newly discovered popularity by choosing between popularity and his true friends, including his best friend Brent who he is leaving behind. The movie might seem silly at a first glance, but it is far from it. It is a great high school comedy about friendship. The movie tells of many issues that most of the people face in their young lives, and it covers all of the issues with a layer of comedy without ever becoming too preachy. The movie manages to avoid all of the stereotypes surrounding gay people and manages to put out a clear message. It talks about being a supporter of LGBT community versus tokenizing gay people. This movie is a wonderful comedy with an important social message. Everyone who appreciates a few good laughs should check it out and have an open mind about it.
