After having to deal with their first monster and evil creature, Ghostbusters are still in the game and they have already built a reputation in the city. These three former paranormal professors Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Dr. Raymond Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Dr. Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) are now more than just professors- they are Ghostbusters. The whole town trusts them and they are the only ones who they call if they have problems with ghosts. Their job is to hunt down ghosts who are making problems, who are nasty, loud and scare people off and take care of them. Now, five years have went by since they have appeared for the first time. Since they have unusual way of doing their jobs, they are now drowning into lawsuits and court orders, which isn't exactly the best advertisement. Also, people have stopped calling them and their business, that was once more than lucrative, is now on the verge of bankrupt. At one point, they manage to discover that a new evil is about to come to New York. When a woman called Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) gets problems with ghosts again, they are the ones she calls. So, they come out of the "retirement" and discover that the ectoplasmic slime is running just beneath the streets of New York and that one really big disaster is about to happen. And that is not the only thing. Also, one pretty ancient sorcerer is trying to get his hands on Dana's baby and be reborn again. And Ghostbusters must deal with all of that.
