It is always interesting to have a glimpse into the past, especially when the people were as lost as the whole world. The time of happening in this movie is in the time of the 1960s, as the war raged in Vietnam and the people were divided into warriors, the soldiers who went to war, and hippies, who were against the whole war and for the love and peace. And what happened with the people who didn't want to be in any of those two groups? Which group they belonged to? They were students and were involved in education in some kind of way. This is the story based on the book written by Susanna Kaysen, who was one of those people, and was placed in mental institution for 18 months. The main character, Susanna (Winona Ryder) is placed into a mental institution after having some hallucinations. Of course, after she drank the whole bottle of vodka with a pack of aspirin, everyone were more than certain that she is gone insane. So, Claymore, the private mental hospital was the best choice for her. There she met Georgina (Clea DuVall), who is a pathological liar, Polly (Elisabeth Moss), who was burned and scarred, Daisy (Brittany Murphy) who has problems eating with other people around, and Lisa (Angelina Jolie), the sociopath. At one point, Susanna's friends and parents start worrying that she might actually be enjoying in her new life.
