Meet Dade (Jonny Lee Miller). He looks like another ordinary guy in the crowd of the same guys, amongst the billions of people on the planet. But, the only difference between him and just another guy on the street is that he is a genius hacker when it comes to using his computer. It all started as he was a young boy, when he crashed into a NASA base. Because of that, he was sentenced to being banned from using any kind of computer at least until he is 18 years old. Now, when he is, he is more than genius and now has the whole bunch of friends in his friend circle. At one point, they all come across something they shouldn't, a file from the recycle bin, which lead them to a cyber criminal. As Dade meets another group of hackers, along with a girl called Kate (Angelina Jolie), and they make their own competition, they start falling for each other. In all that mess, police gets a tip, that there is a group of hackers who have planted a virus, which will release computer order for two oil tanks to crash if they don't get a large amount of money soon. With them as the only group known to the police, these hackers must now find the way to clean their names and nicknames, as well as find the real criminal.
