Elderly Mr. McCauley and his wild teen granddaughter, Sabitha, met Johanna Parry once she started working for them, as a nanny and a housekeeper. Ken, Sabitha's father, who was a recovering addict living in another city, started a relationship with Johanna, after Sabitha performed a few tricks, with a help of her friend, not knowing that she will make it happen for real. Although it was an awkward relationship at first, a quiet caregiver was brave enough to turn it into a satisfying romance. Characters from this drama didn't have even the slightest idea of what will happen to them, and how likely it is that a naive joke turns into a life changing set of circumstances. Sounds interesting? It definitely is.
Liza Johnson directed this American drama, written by Mark Poirier. It is based on the short story "Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage" by Alice Munro and the official trailer for the movie was released on 11 March, 2014. If you are into Guy Pearce, you can watch him as troubleminded Ken, as well as Hailee Steinfeld as wild teen girl Sabitha and Nick Nolte as an elderly Mr. McCauley. Kristen Wiig was the nanny, Johanna Parry.
This interesting drama should inspire you to think about small things that could change your and other people's lives in a few days, hours or even seconds. One letter, one joke and the whole life gets a different meaning and many things get to be evaluated and seen in a completely new way.
