“John Carter” must have been pretty cool at the time the books were released, but so many things since, including “Star Wars” and “Dune” - have been ripped off or inspired by John Carter -- so revisiting the “John Carter” tale in these modern movie times, seems dull and tired. The beginning was weighted down by the back story Wild West setting on Earth - when viewers simply wanted to begin the excitement. The arena scenes were so much like the Geonosis planet. I tried several times, but just couldn't get into this movie, even when re-watching in 3D.

I liked the movie, it is very qualitative and the actors played very well. When I first saw the main hero he didn’t impressed me at all, as I haven’t ever seen any movie with his appearance, but by the end of the movie I was almost in love with him. According to the plot John Carter was a real man, strong by spirit and physically. After finishing the movie I dreamed of “jumping” like him home. Also I loved the cute “doggy” which looked like a beast, but in reality was so cute that by the end of the movie the entire cinema hall loved it very much. The main hero, Princess was simply gorgeous, and had one of the best bodies I have ever seen in my life. This movie has showed me one more time that if man loves a woman than he will do anything in order to be with her, I really respect this kind of men, and do wish there were more of them, but on the mother Earth!

I can say that I loved this movie, not less than I loved Avatar, as it is very interesting and strong, and till the last minute of it when I was at cinema I was sitting and thinking what will happen next? Awe I was so worried that someone of my “favorites” will get killed! And I can say the fact that I have watched it in 3D was also important. This movie was filmed on the basis of the book “Princess of Mars”, before seeing this movie I didn’t plan to read the book, as fantasy is not my style, my husband loves it, that is why from time to time we go for such movies, but not too often, the only thing I can add is that after seeing this movie I will certainly read the book, now it really caught my interest, practically all the movie I was sitting with wide opened eyes and being very happy! And of course I laughed really hard than John the whole movie was called Vir-giiiiinia ))! The only sad moment in the movie was when John found his family and buried them, I even cried in that moment.

After the release of the movie, I read a variety of negative reviews about it that is why I didn’t go to the cinema in order to see it, which I am very sorry about right now. Sometimes the reviews are not being very helpful, as all the people are different, as well as their opinions abt the movie are different as well. I haven’t read the book, so I cannot say anything bad about the subject line, but after seeing the movie I can say that the plot of the movie is very interesting, as all the Disney movies it is oriented towards them, that is why there are almost non violence scenes, as well as there are none erotic ones, that is why this movie has become one of my favorites. There is only one almost finished story in the movie, but for some reason I have a feeling that there will be more in this movie, I would truly loved that, it feels like it is not the end yet. The good thing is that Disney was able to recreate the image of the good old known real gentleman with great heart and good manners.
