When someone finds himself in a gang or a mafia group, there is no way out, unless that someone dies. That's what happened to Mitchell (Colin Farrell). Mitchell is a mob member who just got out of the prison Pentonville, where he served a year for assaulting. On his way out Mitchell got in touch with a long time friend and a criminal Billy (Ben Chaplin), who took him to a party. The occasion was him getting out. And there is everybody from the world of hot shots in the world of criminal. All gangsters are there to greet him and give him a hand. Since he is looking for a job, he somehow manages to persuade young hot actress Charlotte (Keira Knightly) and her father figure Jordan (David Thewlis) to hire him as a security to defend her against paparazzi and other curious people. And for once in his life, he is doing a legal job and enjoying it to it's fullest. But, it all starts getting in danger as Mr Gant (Ray Winstone), one of the highly respected criminals comes and offers him a high position in the criminal world again. And that doesn't happen as easily as he would want to. He must protect his sister as well as his new client, with whom he starts falling in love with. This crime drama that was directed by William Monahan, who was also one of the co-writers, will blow you minds.
