Lord of Tears is a horror movie written by Sarah Daly and directed by Lawrie Brewster. The cast is pretty solid, with some known names such as David Schofield, Alexandra Hulme and Euan Douglas. This movie tells a story of James Findlay who is a school teacher plagued by recurring nightmares of a weird evil entity. James suspects that his visions are linked with an incident from his past. He returns to his childhood home, a mansion in the Scottish Highlands. There he discovers the disturbing truth behind his weird dreams and he must fight in order to survive the troubles caused by his curiosity. At first the movie might seem like one big cliche, but soon enough it changes and that's when the movie becomes very interesting. Sound is pretty amazing, it adds plenty to the feeling of dread and horror. Every horror fan will undoubtedly enjoy this flick since it had been made by horror fans for horror fans. The movie has a sort of a Lovecraftian feel to it and the monster in the movie is pretty weird and scary. The build up might be a bit long and it could bore some of the viewers, but what follows it is an astonishingly good horror story which is bound to scare the living daylight out of everyone.
