As the title itself says, in the focus of this story is a wife of a mob boss and her everyday life in that environment. After one of the mob bosses Frank "Cucumber" De Marco (Alec Baldwin) was murdered, his wife, Angela De Marco (Michelle Pfeiffer) was left a widow. And not only that. She is also left watched by the police and their undercover agent Mike Downey (Matthew Modine). From the very beginning you can tell that the movie is going to be hilarious, since there is a lot of mob like behaviour all over the lace, from both men and women. As the story goes on we get to see how the situation gets developed and how the relations are. At first, Mike is there to spy on Angela with the notion that she is somehow involved in the killing of her late husband, because there is a lot at stake. While spying on her, he discovers that she is being pressured by one of the other mob bosses Tony "The Tiger" Russo (Dean Stockwell) as well as that she has to put up with his very very jealous wife Connie Russo (Mercedes Ruehl). And in all that chaos, when he discovers that Angela is, in fact, an innocent victim of the circumstances, he starts falling in love with her as well.
