Jim Carrey has always had hilarious rolls. Every one of them has made millions of people laugh and hold on to their stomachs because of the silly hysterical things he does. This time he gets to play the role of a police officer who has a split personality- Charlie Baileygates. He is a simple and pretty kind officer. He doesn't like fighting and is very mild as a person. But, over time, as he gets pushed around by various people, he develops a serious split personality. So, from time to time, his alter-ego, Hank Evans appears. And he is totally opposite. He is loud, rude, loves picking up a fight and is pretty crazy. When being confronted, there is nothing he can and is willing to do, because he is up for everything. Now, his boss has to deal with his split personality and Charlie gets a new assignment. After hot blonde girl Irene P. Waters (Renée Zellweger) gets arrested, Charlie is the one to escort her back to the New York, because she is a fugitive. But, as always, Hank has to stick his nose into everything that Charlie does, so he manages to mess up most of the perfect situations Charlie has to show his authority.
