"Who is Joe Black"- that is the question that can often be heard in this movie, and with a good reason. Because almost no one can tell who he is, no one knows him. No one, except one person- William Parrish (Anthony Hopkins). After celebrating his 64th birthday, William gets visited by a strange man. He instantly realizes that it is Death, in disguise. Although he has been an amazing father to his daughters Susan and Allison, as well as one really great company director and a businessman, he is still another mortal when it comes to living and dying. And Death is waiting for him. So, after borrowing the body of a young man that had died during the party and has already got the attention of Susan, one of the William's daughters, Death decides to try and see how humans live. So, it makes a deal with William to ensure some more time before he dies, if William shows him their ways of living in return. Throughout the movie he presents himself as Joe Black. As Susan falls in love with Joe and Joe starts falling in love with her, things start to get a lot more complicated and William isn't going to allow Death to hurt his daughter. What can Death do and should he do it?
