After Bruce Geller made a huge success with his TV series, a movie adaptation was done on the same theme. Brian De Palma was the man behind the camera who did the directing part. The whole story revolves around secret agents and missions that are more than impossible. The plot is pretty simple, but the movie is captivating, since there is lots of action sequences in the film. It all starts when Jim Phelps (Jon Voight) gets sent to Prague on a secret mission. His goal was to prevent some kind of classified material to be stolen. Besides him, there were also his wife, Claire (Emmanuelle Béart) and one of his partners Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise). Three of them trusted each other without limits. In the middle of the mission, something goes really wrong and there is no one left alive. No one but one guy- Ethan Hunt. So, as he reports the mission to be failed, he is considered to be the one who betrayed the whole team. With Kettridge (Henry Czerny) on the head of the agency, Ethan is on the run and there are lots of agents after him. Now, Ethan must find a way to clear his name and restore the balance in the agency. And there are some pretty unusual methods he is using, but if it helps, he has no problem with them.
