What is the movie Moneyball about?
Movie Moneyball is a biography before it is everything else. Like majority of high ranked biographies, Moneyball has a story assembled by small team of professionals. Book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game written by Michael Lewis served as starting point. Based on the book, Stan Shervin created the story and Steven Zaillian with Aaron Sorkin wrote the screenplay. Director Bennett Miller took Brad Pit for leading role. This role is very demanding, looked from many aspects. Brad managed to give third dimension to his character Billy Beane. Billy did something in Oakland in 2002, what changed the way people look at the game. With lowest income and serious problems, Billy started to use statistics in a different way, so he could evaluate the players. Billy is in centre of the story, but really interesting thing that Moneyball offers and other movies can’t reveal is the system. It reveals how this particular system works. Besides Brad Pit, Johan Hill, playing Peter Band, and Philips Seymour Hoffman, playing Art Howe, did an outstanding performance. Peter is important character because he is the one who will break things down for Billy and the audience. This biography is also a drama and a sports movie. As excellent sports movie it has meaning deeper that share winning. It is not all about the win.
