What is the movie Monsters, Inc. about?
Pete Docter’s “Monsters, Inc” shows what happens when the scary ones are afraid of those they’re meant to scare. This Disney/Pixar animated feature is set in the parallel city of Monstropolis, inhabited by various types of monsters. Some of them work for a company called Monsters, Inc, which turns children’s screams into energy which powers the city. Their job is to visit the children in their homes and give them a good scare. However, monsters are wary of children who they believe to be toxic and that the slightest touch of a child could result in death. Business is going bad lately, since the children are getting more difficult to scare, and the company boss Henry Waternoose desperately searches for a solution. All hell breaks loose when Sully, the company’s best “scarer”, finds a little girl who has found her way to the Monsters, Inc. factory. Sully soon realizes that the girl is not toxic and becomes affectionate of her, and together with his one-eyed partner Mike tries to hide her from the other monsters and send her back to safety. Along the way he learns that Waternoose has an evil plan in place regarding the collecting of children’s screams. With the odds stacked firmly against them, Sully, Mike and the little girl who Sully names “Boo” will have to take on the whole Monstropolis in order to find the door which leads to Boo’s home and prevent Waternoose’s evil plan from coming to fruition.
