It is a very interesting story about a young man whose name was Odd Thomas, and this man has an unusual gift! Thomas sees the souls of the dead people, or if being more precise the souls of people who were murdered, and who were chasing him while seeking for help. The action of the movie is developed in a small city, in which the main hero works. From this point the most interesting things start. An unusual dream is worrying Odd and makes him start his own investigation in which he is helped by his girlfriend. Two young people are connected by a weird fortune from a fortune teller in a park since the times they were children, and since those times they are together. The girl knows about the unusual abilities of her boyfriend, and tries helping him in everything, she is the one who supports him at the highest possible level. It is a great movie for Saturday night, it is a touchy modern love story with adventures, i recommend it to people who love crying by the end of the movie.

Due to the fact that i am an admirer of the writer Dean Koontz for a very long time, of course i could not miss this movie. I like most of all this writer because he pays a lot of attention to the small things, and unfortunately the film creators were not able to do the same thing, probably due to lack of time. Some of the details, very important ones were not included in the movie, that is why i would advise everyone reading the book first, actually, i would advise reading it in any case, before or after the movie.
My friend who didn’t read the book was simply amazed by the movie, so maybe i am that picky due to the fact i know too much. Anyway it is a interesting movie and it is unique in its kind. I simply think that on the basis of such book they could have create a real masterpiece, but unfortunately some dreams stay dreams. I guess if there is some spare time, than it is better watching this movie, than “Very scary movie” or “Scream”.

I read “Odd Thomas” about ten years ago, and i can say that it is a quite good mystic story. And not a long time ago i got the chance to watch the movie, the subject of which was reminding me that story i read a long time ago. By the way till the end of the movie i was perfectly sure that it was based on that story. The genre of the movie is something between a horror and a thriller. There were no scenes in it, that would cause anyone feel sick, but there were no pleasant scenes either. The main idea of the movie was to show the feelings of the main hero, who got a weird gift, he is able to see death coming. It was interesting to watch how Odd was pretending that he doesn’t see “souls” but it was very hard to believe that, especially after seeing how they were chasing him in the city. The actors in the movie done really great! Especially i enjoyed Stormy, the girl who performed this role was simply creating for it! My conclusion, people who loved the book will love the movie as well!
