What happens when you build you success but based on you family's dirty laundry? That is the question that is elaborated in this comedy drama, which was written by Peter Himmelstein and directed by Barry W. Blaustein. The focus of this movie is the whole Meyerwitz family. As they gather each year to celebrate the father's birthday, after one point, they start being really unpleasant towards each other. The oldest son, Jack (Hall) is the responsible one in the family. He is married, has a wife Laura (Greer) and a baby is on the way. Than, there is Cheri (Silverman), who is the sister of the family, and who is self proclaimed artistic soul, still searching for her true calling. Joel (Wilson) is the black sheep of the family, mostly because he does whatever he wants, no matter the consequences. And there is the youngest one Nathan (Schwartz), who is a famous writer.. at least after he wrote a book about his family called Peep World. With the story being basically stolen from their lives, how their dysfunctional family works, who does what and all of the dirty laundry, it isn't strange that he doesn't feel like celebrating his dad's 70th birthday this evening. Facing his other siblings may open a new chapter or even get another book on his lap. But, they sure aren't going to be satisfied. Except the paps, who is proud of him being a successful man.
