Everyone knows that dog is man’s best friend. English writer Louis De Berniéres wrote the book that shows how much happiness and joy can one dog bring to the entire community. Based on this book, Daniel Talitz created a screenplay and Kriv Stenders directed great movie. This mix of drama and comedy is called Red Dog just like main character. This Red Dog has interesting personality and ability to get what he wants from people. Dog is roaming around the dusty Australian roads, until one day he hitch-hikes the ride to the small town. In this small place he becomes everyone’s dog and has unique interactions with each resident. It is interesting how human nature drives characters to interact with mysterious dog even when they are not in the mood to talk to others. Because of this, Red manages to bring members of community closer and make them happy. This unique and smart dog existed for real and served as an inspiration to Daniel Talitz. What makes this dog more unique is fact that he choose his master and not the vice versa. Camera work is done very good and scenes that show dogs emotions are impressive. Red dog is a nice family movie that is suitable for all ages.
