If you are looking for a movie that will be perfect for a family gathering or something like that, this is one of the best. Rising Stars is both written and directed by Daniel Millican. It starts with the semifinals of the competition for the bets music video. There are two groups- filmmakers and performers, who can be individuals, singing groups or even bands. As they spend some time in the campus, each musical act (group, solo or a band) gets paired up with a filmmaker. They are all under the big eye of the cameras, constantly getting recorded with them as well as with microphones. They all get a task and instructions that they must follow. There is short haired and cute Natalie, who is a filmmaker and she gets paired up with Chance's band. Another filmmaker Garrett, a know-it-all kind of guy, is teamed up with a rap-R&B duo JR and Eigsh. And last but not the least is Kevin, who is kind of a computer nerd, who does his job amazingly, and he is paired up with superficial and dumb, but cute Brenna. With this competition not picking up the ratings as they were hoping to, the tension rises amongst the competitors as well as amongst the workers in the production of the show. Each of these persons must confront it’s fears and personal problems in order to overcome them all and get the inner strength they need to win the competition. And with parents that put even more pressure on these competitors it is only the question who is stronger as a person.
