I think the worst enemy of the movie that tends to be a qualitative one, is its total senseless. Sometimes a banal movie, or even a silly one, can be “forgiven” because it has some original style, or the “picture” looks very efficient, but to my total disappointment, this movie is not wow at all, in fact it is a ‘yuke’ one. I think each story that is being recited suppose to have a beginning, development of the main subject, and the final of the story- which is the base on which everything is being held. And when the movie looks like a gathering of scenes “about nothing” which are suppose to shock or scare the viewer, but are completely unable to do it, that is already not a movie, but some sort of performance which is supposed to be neglected. “River of Darkness” is the worst movie i have ever seen in my entire life, i consider that this kind of movies should not be filmed at all.

This film was such a waste of time and in the end I couldn't even make it to the end before turning it off. Kurt Angle has prominent talent as a wrestler, but as an actor he is seriously lacking. Unfortunately, he was not even the worse thing about this movie: the script/dialog is just pitiful. The casting is an obvious joke - I've seen better acting with more personality from a 1st grade school play. Kurt Angle as the lead has shown a rather wooden performance, but in his wrestling promos, he is acting with so much enthusiasm and passion. Special effects and make up leave much to be desired for the present day cinematograph industry. I cannot remember any bad movie of this kind that I would be trying to watch so hardly. Do not waste your time on this garbage movie)!

The main idea of the movie, is how can you stop ghosts from killing? After a row of horrible murders which took place in a small city ( as usually it happens in this kind of movies), the main hero of the movie “River of Darkness), sheriff Will Logan (Kurt Angle) starts asking himself this question, because all of the murders are linked and bring him to three brothers who were killed many years ago. Now he realizes that the dead farmers who died many years ago came back from the other world, in order to revenge. I think that the primary idea of this movie is very interesting so it is a pity that it wasn’t worked out till its logical interesting end, i wish movies producers have thought a bit more about this movie, i am sure this way that would have been something really interesting, while right now, it is something not that good. And it is a pity. By the way, it is interesting to know that Kurt Angle, is the champion of the Olympic games in 1996.

I cannot call it a good movie, as it doesn’t correspond to too many standards in order to be called that way. The story is simple and silly as the entire world. And it lies in the plot of the majority movies created in this or that period of time, the only thing I don’t really understand is why the movie producers don’t make up something new, instead of using the old ideas of producers who were before them? Is it so hard to make the brain thinking and coming up with a new idea? I don’t think so, but this means making something and not sitting on one place, which is already too difficult to do. The sheriff of a little city is making his own mini research about the row of mystery murders committed by three farmer brothers (Jacobs) who were buried many years ago, but come back from the other world in order to revenge on the citizens. I think that the plot is pretty banal, and considering the fact how cheap it looks, I realize that probably there was a very small fund of this movie.
