What is the movie Some Like It Hot about?
Hailed as the greatest American comedy film of all times, “Some Like It Hot” was a smash hit upon its release and to this day it is held in high regard. Directed by the famed director Billy Wilder,“Some Like It Hot” tells the story of two Chicago jazz musicians Jerry and Joe (Jack Lemon and Tony Curtis, respectively) who witness a mafia murder and flee the town disguised as ladies in an all-female band on their way to Miami. On the bus they both meet and fall desperately in love with the band’s lead singer and ukulele player Sugar Cane (Marilyn Monroe). The two runaway musicians are competing for Sugar Cane’s affection while trying to keep their true identities (and gender) hidden, all the while trying to hide their tracks from the mob. After all sorts of tomfoolery and shenanigans they are ultimately free from the mobsters (who wind up dead themselves), but not from the clutches of romance their assumed identities have led them into. The iconic “nobody’s perfect” punch line remains one of the most famous movie endings of all time. “Some Like It Hot” was an absolute success, both at the box office and among the film critics. Today it is considered a masterpiece of creativity and craftsmanship. It has also helped Marilyn Monroe reaffirm her status as the ultimate sex symbol of her (if not any) era.

Of course Marilyn Monroe in this movie is gorgeous. But i watched this movie again and again mostly due to the performance of Jack Lemmon in it (he is the actor who performed Daphne’s role). He has showed amazing performing skills, and the mimics of his face was a real masterpiece! Awe dear God i adore him! I think everything in this movie is perfect, the thing i like most of all is that there is no even hint on something vulgar, even the scene of seduction on the yacht is shown very pretty and romantic. I think in the modern version of this movie, the film director would shown the scene in the bedroom “from” and “till”. This way for the absence of vulgarity, interesting plot, perfect film directing and the hit song of the fifties “i want to be loved by you” i can rate this movie with maximum high rate. And i can add that personally i have it in my personal collection of favorite movies for a very long time! From time to time i watch it with my niece, she is also a very romantic nature as i am.

I love this movie, i can say that it is one of the few movies of those old times, that i am ready to watch again and again. I don’t even remember how many times i have already watched it, but i can surely say that each time i was “navigating” the TV channels and saw it going i was watching it! And of course it is a sin not to watch it till the end, when one of the ladies makes the confession to her “gentleman” that she is a man and he is saying in a very calm way that each person has its own minuses, that was a hilarious moment that makes me laugh out hard each time i am watching this movie! In general it is a kind, positive and old touching movie, as all the black and white movies of those times! Men wearing female clothes have performed their roles just perfect! Amazing! Wonderful! I have no words to describe how much i liked them! And Marilyn Monroe is a woman that is history itself! So as a conclusion i can say that if there still are people who haven’t seen this movie yet then they should immediately correct their mistake!

Hi everyone. I adore this movie! I saw it on the TV the first time, about six or seven years ago and i liked it very much! And the music in it was exquisite as well! After watching it i started loving jazz music, and i can say that i love it till the day of today! The actors in it perform very well, though i know that Sinatra wanted the role of Geraldine as well, and thank God he didn’t got it, because i love this movie exactly the way it is, i wouldn’t change any little thing about it. Monroe in the movie didn’t look as gorgeous as usually, as she was pregnant that is why she was a bit bigger than usually. Yes that movie probably didn’t solved all the problems of Monroe, but still the end of the movie is a very decent one, as it shows that for the sake of saving lives you will be able to do anything, even will become a woman)), and the epic phrases for all the nations in the world are proving that this movie is really a great success! I advise everyone to watch the full version, as in some versions a variety of scenes were deleted.
