When you see names like Robert DeNiro, Milla Jovovich and Edward Norton on the casting list, you already know that you're in for a treat with the movie they're in. The movie is focused on three main characters and period when their lives cross each others path. It all starts with couple of weeks before Jack Mabry (Robert De Niro) is to go to retirement. He works as a parole officer and is very old. He gets to finish one of the cases he's been assigned to. One specific case that he needs to handle is the case of Gerald "Stone" Creeson (Edward Norton). Stone is a tough guy who is also a couple of weeks before he gets released on the parole, when he can see his friends and his wife again in peace. But, first he must play along. As two of them meet, for Jack that is just another case and he isn't in the mood to indulge Stone's every wish. If he behaves, he'll get his parole. The problem is, Stone isn't actually behaving. So, in order to get him in the mood, Stone makes an arrangement with his wife Lucetta (Milla Jovovich), that she seduces the officer and talks him into giving Stone the early parole. As Jack slowly falls into their trap, limits and boundaries become more and more blurred, but who is playing dirty here?
