Sunshine on Leith is a musical comedy drama Directed by Dexter Fletcher and written by Stephen Greenhorn. Some of the actors are Antonia Thomas, George MacKay and Jason Flemyng. This movie is based on a stage hit of the same name featuring music by a pop folk band The Proclaimers. The story revolves around Davy and Ally who return back to Edinburgh after serving a tour of duty in Afghanistan. They both struggle to live a life outside of the army. And they both struggle to deal with their family, jobs and relationships. This movie is pretty amazing, the acting is top notch and every actor does an exemplary job. Every actor contributes equally to this movie and that's what makes it so special. It is obvious that they wanted to do their best without overshadowing the others. It is very hard to make a decent movie out of a musical, but Sunshine on Leith manages to do it! The locations in the movie are beautiful and the fact that the camera work is amazing makes those locations even prettier. Transition from spoken dialogues to singing is well done, it is really hard to find something bad with this movie. If you enjoy musicals, then definitely give Sunshine on Leith a go.
