What is the movie The Cove about?
Here is one of the most interesting movies that we are writing descriptions for. It is a crime-documentary about animal abuse. The dolphins are in danger in Japan, hear Taijii. The dolphin trainer Ric O'Barry is ready to do whatever he can in order to stop them in their intentions. He has to infiltrate the cove and not only to save the animals, but also to expose the threats to human health. If you remember the TV show Flipper from 1964, then you will definitely remember Ric. He was the dolphin trainer in the show. One of the dolphins actually committed suicide in his arms because of the captivity and that is what made him give his best in order to save these beautiful animals. He quickly became one of the biggest fighters against cetaceans in captivity in the wild. They think that in Japan they can find the cove where many dolphins are being abused and their goal is to stop it. The reason why the men in Japan are doing this is to sell the dolphins alive, or kill them for meat. Either way, Ric was not able to let this happen and that is why he has given his best to stop it. Since there is a lot of mercury in the dolphin meat, they also point out that it is not a good idea to eat a lot of this meat. The bottom line is that this is one of the docu movies that will make you think about these animals and to ask yourself what people are ready to do in order to make money...

When i saw this movie the first thought that i got in my head was, is this real? Does it really happen with those creatures that are absolutely unselfishly saving people from sharks, or those who are getting drowned?! I completely agree with the last words. Because if we will not beat this evil, than everything else doesn’t really matter.I guess in this case, there is not hope or future. As if we want to show or prove that there is something good in a person, than we should finish all that. For me this movie has become a revelation, and it made me reconsider my whole life, and change a whole bunch of stuff in it. Hopefully there would be more people like me, who would do same thing.

The Cove is a harrowing and haunting documentary on the dolphin slaughter in Japan. Benefiting from explanations of dolphin psychology and lots of footage of them in their natural habitat and hearing stories of the connection with people helped create a personal connection to the animals. Though the documentary is very one-sided, it's very suspenseful, emotional, shocking and disturbing, but also left me wanting more. At only an hour and a half long, The Cove could have taken time to explain more about the mercury poisoning, views from the Japanese side, etc. I wouldn't have minded the longer running time since they got me so involved in the loves of the dolphins. The is an essential documentary for everybody to see nonetheless. It will stay with you long after you have seen it.

One of the year's best documentary films, a stirring call to action against the slaughter of dolphins in Japan.

I can say that i have a strong passion, i love watching the behavior of the animals, and read a lot of good articles about it. That is why i can certainly stay that dolphins are highly developed animals, who have their own consciousness, ideology and emotionality! Dolphins have their own very difficult language that scientists all over the world are trying to discover. Also they like giving name to each other. All of those things makes a lot of scientists think of dolphins as of “not human” individuals. Some of them doubt that a person can be more intelligent than a dolphin. And for those people who consider this movie a hypocrite one, i can say that here they can see the difference between the dolphins and the big variety of other types of animals. I cannot believe that the events which were described in this movie are true. Because in this case they are killing all the good features that a person might have! It was very painful to watch what people are doing, and even more painful to realize i could not do anything to stop them.

This movie is simply impossible to watch! Because personally cannot watch and be ok with the fact that people are being killed in a cruel manner and for no reason on the screen. It is gross to my nature. The dolphins are also alive creatures, the only difference is that those creatures live in the sea. They have their own society, language and relationship! And those are the type of people who are being killed with hundreds and dozens! And later they are being eaten, as about me, i can say that for me it is same as cannibalism in its worst kind! I was terrified to watch this movie, really terrified. I haven’t ever seen anything that would have been less pleasant than this movie! But at the same time i can say that it is one of the best documentary movies i have ever seen, at least lately!
I do recommend this movie to everyone because although it is a scary one, at the same time it is revealing the truth the real truth of life which has to be known by everybody, as this way some changes can happen!
