The Dead Inside is a brainchild of Travis Betz alone. This very low budget movie proves that it is possible to entertain audience with only two actors. Story is complicated and it is linear, but it brings up very interesting questions. Lack of other characters makes it easier for audience to feel compassion for main characters. Wes (Dustin Fasching) and Fi (Sarah Lassez) live uninteresting lives. Wes is failed photographer who provides for them by shooting weddings. Fi is writer and author of series of zombie novellas. Love that Wes and Fi feel for each other is strong but their life style prevents their emotions to reach full potential. When Fi starts to show signs of schizophrenia, the love that Wes feels for her will be put to the test. Wes is willing to save Fi from illness but doctors can’t help him. After Fi’s strange behaviour and breathing he even seeks help from the church. Church didn’t help. Soon he will discover that something much serious happened to Fi. Entity that is inside Fi takes over her voice and body and reveals itself to Wes. It introduces itself as Emily. Wes now has to deal with this stranger who took over love of his life. This funny horror is also a musical. Camera work is nice and movie is very creative.
